Things to See and Do
There are so many thing to see and do in Bedford – from a stroll along the picturesque Embankment, to exploring the local history at the John Bunyan and Higgins Museums,shopping in the high-street or enjoying a spot of coffee and cake in one of the many independent cafes. We love to show friends around Bedford when they come to visit and we’ll be delighted to give you our top picks of great things to do while you’re here.
The Danish Camp – a Scandinavian log cabin nestled in tranquil woodland overlooking the River Great Ouse. Known for its popular riverboat trips, its wildfowl collection and its own European Eagle Owl called Ozzie. The cafe serves a great range of drinks, ice-cream and breakfast/lunch options.
Priory Country Park – our go-to place for walking, running, cycling and a taste of nature just minutes from home. Take a walk around the pretty lake (approx 25 mins) and you’ll see an abundance of plants, trees and birdlife.
Be sure to bring a container in the summertime to pick your fill of the wild blackberries!
